Tata Motors is hiring Mechanical Engineers for their vehicle design and manufacturing division in Pune. Work on next-gen electric and conventional vehicles.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Tata Motors in Pune, you will contribute to the design, development, and manufacturing of passenger and commercial vehicles, including the company's expanding electric vehicle lineup. This full-time role places you at the heart of India's automotive innovation, working with advanced materials, simulation tools, and manufacturing processes.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, quality assurance, and production planning to bring vehicle components from concept to mass production. Requirements

  • 1-4 years mechanical engineering
  • CAD/CAM software proficiency
  • Automotive industry preferred
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or ANSYS
  • Understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing feasibility assessment
  • Knowledge of materials science relevant to automotive components (metals, polymers, composites)
  • Familiarity with automotive industry standards such as IATF 16949 and FMEA methodology
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Manufacturing is essential for success in this role Familiarity with Quality would be an added advantage

Responsibilities

  • Prepare engineering drawings, bill of materials, and technical specifications for production
  • Conduct root cause analysis for field failures and implement corrective design changes
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for component sourcing and quality validation
  • Support prototype builds and participate in vehicle testing programs at test tracks
Contribute to a positive team culture through mentorship and knowledge transfer Document processes, workflows, and technical specifications for knowledge sharing Stay current with industry trends and recommend improvements to existing processes Participate in regular team meetings, stand-ups, and sprint planning sessions
